A patent agent helps people with inventions get patents on their inventions. In order to present the patent, the patent agent must have a thorough knowledge of the technologies involved with the invention. Once a complete understanding of the technologies involved has been acquired, the patent agent then presents the invention to the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. This is done by completing the patent application that describes the invention.
